Is this even being held annually? Do they invite people outside the country? I’m currently residing in a place where workers in sugarcane plantations are really abused. They are overworked but almost never paid. I really hope you can invite the landlords of this place as the workers really really need help.

Worker organizing, selective government procurement, corporate pressure, consumer education, and solidarity relationships – these are great agenda. Do you already have a final programme for this conference? I’m sure all of these topics will not be dealt with all at once. So will there be any discussions or forums in the conference?

Hello,

It may be helpful if you add something on your website that lists those companies that are working with sweatfree communities... and those that are not doing anything about it... so we would know where to eat. Clearly, I see, MacDonalds is not doing too well. But there must be other restaurants as well.

Not that I was going to eat at MacDonalds anyway! I usually prefer eating 'food' for dinner.

But at any rate, I would like to support those that are doing the right thing and it would be helpful to know exactly who they are. I see you mentioned Taco Bell in your write up. There must be others too!

Sorry, this has to do with your web browser. Unless you've set it otherwise, it will open a window for a PDF file. If you don't have a PDF viewer plugin for your browser, the file will just download.

You can get a plugin at firefox.org (if you are running firefox), or adobe.com.

Or just go over to where files download, and open the file there.

We use PDFs, because they travel well: a huge printable file that would be five time the size as an image can be saved in PDF, and viewed on any machine. The PDF viewers are free (from Adobe, Preview in mac, Gimp in linux, and many others).

Hope that helps!

We meet in several borrowed spaces. The meetings are organized by and comprised of Fair Food NYC folks, each person with their own stories of how they got involved in the CIW campaign. If you're interested in getting involved, email us at fairfoodnyc (at) gmail.com and we'll be happy to get you plugged in!

who's sponsoring the NYC meeting? is it the Fair Food NYC office?

if not, what group is hosting it? what is the relationship of that group to the Fair Food NYC and national campaigns?

thanks

After the great response from our first flyering and the Union Square Demo in October, almost twenty folks made it out to flyer and talk with people.

We got great feedback, and are looking forward to upcoming events!

FFNYC folks will be doing noon flyering in midtown during the week of the 11th, and are planning events around new years.

Sign up for the mailing list, or email us to get involved and share your ideas!
